The Coalition Welcomes Its Newest Board Members

The Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati is pleased to announce the newest members of our Board of Trustees!

Rick Oliver, Director of Programming & Station Operations for FOX19, is a well-respected broadcast veteran with many years of experience in many aspects of the industry. Oliver first came to FOX19 in 1976 as a Film Editor, and in the thirty plus years since, has overseen many of the stations programming, film and operational functions. Additionally, during the period when FOX19 was owned by both Metromedia and Malrite Communications, Oliver served as the Corporate Film Director responsible for stations from New York to Puerto Rico.

Having made his home in the Cincinnati area for many years, Rick is involved and engaged in the community. He has worked with many local and regional athletic organizations, serving as both a coach and a board member for Bluegrass Baseball. As well as serving on the Board for the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, Rick is also Chairman of the Public Awareness Work Group for the Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati.

Rick and his wife, Jerri, reside in Union, Kentucky and have two college age sons, Rainer and Ryan. Rick attended Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky.

Karen Murray, Director of the Butler County Drug-Free Coalition has been involved in community anti-drug coalitions for more than ten years. Prior to this position, Karen worked for the United Way of Butler County and was the past Director of Health Education at Miami University. The Coalition for a Healthy Community-Oxford Area was initiated out of the Office of Health Education at MU and was one of the first campus-community coalitions established in Ohio. Karen is skilled at building community relationships, is knowledgeable about all aspects of coalition building and management and brings a perspective from the northern Cincinnati metro counties to the table.

Karen has served as a volunteer with CDFGC on several occasions including participation on the Local Coalition Development committee. She believes strongly in collaboration and has worked side by side with CDFGC to develop coalitions in Butler County.

Karen and her husband Joe, reside in Hamilton, Ohio and have two children in junior high and high school. Karen holds a MS degree.
